The patron saint of England is St George, whose day is celebrated on 23rd April each year. England does not have a public holiday on St George's day but in Ireland St Patrick's day 17th March is a public holiday and so is St Andrew's day, 30th November, in Scotland. The patron Saint of Wales is St David, whose day is 1st March; this is not a public holiday in Wales.
