I am having the same issue with my 97 Geo Prizm. I had my mechanic look at it. He slightly jacked up the motor and said the vibration wnet away and as he suspected it was the worn out motor mounts. It is worse in the winter when it is cold. I am in the process of replacing the motor mounts now, but the cheapest I can find them is almost $300 on the web. Good luck
Excessive vibrating at low RPM can be caused by worn-out engine mounts. These pieces mount the engine to the frame of the vehicle, and when they wear out, the engine can literally lift and shift out of place when the car is running
It will idle as low as 600 rpm.It will idle as low as 600 rpm.
bad engine mounts low rpm old timing belt over charged ac
its because it has a 3-speed trany, there is a overdrive trany that is a 4-speed but there kinda hard to find. My 90 Geo Tracker is the same. I believe what is probably going on is- it's a 4x4 with a low end tranny. It's not meant for speed.
The fluid could be too low to allow the transmission to shift. Depending on where the fluid leak is, the leak could be through a bad solenoid or soaking electrical connections, stopping the transmission from shifting.
it only studders at low rpm it runs great at high rpm or accelerating only at idle and take off rpm
check the idle speed with the car in gear, if it has a tac on the dash it should idle in gear at about 700 rpm if its too low the car will vibrate or stall.
Yes, If the Geo Tracker is equipped with 4x4 the the transfer case shifter will have a selection for 4 wheel drive Low range or 4 low as you say it.
Could be several reasons. Is coolant level very low? If so, probable leak in cooling system. Check hoses. If coolant not low, may well be cooling fan not operating. If fan is working and coolant level is ok, possible thermostat problem. May be stuck closed.
I know on my '98 Prizm it is accessible from the inside down low on the passenger side. Not an overwhelming job.
any answer .......
Nitrous really doesn't care at what rpm the engine is running at, whether it be low end or high end. Whatever amount of hp the nitrous is set to add, it will add at any rpm. Although, you need to be careful because you cant overload the engine at low rpm's or you'll start breaking things.
