How did the Saar plebiscite make Hitler stronger?

It was an essential 'first step' to Hitler's Road to War: 1. The result demonstrated that Germans were not just being scared into supporting the Nazis. It made it very hard for Hitler's opponents to argue that the German people were not entirely behind him. 2. The result gave a massive boost to Hitler's status. The Saar plebiscite confirmed Hitler's expansionist agenda for the rest of the 1930s, and made it incredibly difficult for democratic governments to oppose his claims to Austria and the Sudetenland.

Did Hitler come to power in Germany on 30th January 1933?

Hitler was sworn in as German chancellor on the morning of 30 January 1933, but many argue that he was elected because of his powerful speeches and they way he was showing power over others. Hidenburg wanted the side of the Nazis as they were powerful. Hidenburg and Von Papen thought they could control Hitler by giving him chancellor but they were wrong.

Why should the appeasement of Hitler NOT have happened?

The people who sought to appease Hitler had mistaken him for a reasonable person, rather than taking him for the vicious psychopath that he was. Many argue that appeasement was needed, or else Germany would of drawn closer to Russian and the US would of continued its isolationist dogma.
