Why does Katherine want to kill Damon and stefan in vampire diaries?

Katherine is a vampire and she wants to own the salvator brothers as she is selfish (shes not truly in love with them). this means she wants to turn them both into vampires, to do this she has to get vampire blood into their systems then kill them within 24 hours (so the vamp blood does not leave their system). This is why she wishes to kill them- its part of the vampire turning process.
