The wren does not refer to Lady Macduff.
The passage goes as follows:
"Wisdom! to leave his wife, to leave his babes,
His mansion and his titles in a place
From whence himself does fly? He loves us not;
He wants the natural touch: for the poor wren,
The most diminutive of birds, will fight,
Her young ones in her nest, against the owl.
All is the fear and nothing is the love;
As little is the wisdom, where the flight
So runs against all reason. "
Lady Macduff is protesting against Ross's suggestion that it was wisdom that prompted Macduff to go to England and leave his family behind. She contends that he should have stayed to guard his family, like a mother wren. The mother wren represents Macduff, who should be guarding his family from the owl Macbeth, and not Lady Macduff. Animals in nature, she argues, will fight for their families, even tiny ones like mother wrens, but he, Macduff, "wants the natural touch" ("Wants" here has the meaning "lacks") She points out, quite fairly, that if it is so dangerous in Scotland, why would he leave his wife, babes, mansion and titles there? No, she concludes, the reason for his leaving is all fear, no love or wisdom, "where the flight so runs against all reason.

Lady Macduff uses the symbol of Macbeth as an owl and herself as a wren to illustrate their contrasting natures. Owls are associated with darkness, deceit, and death, reflecting Macbeth's treacherous actions. On the other hand, wrens are small and innocent birds, symbolizing Lady Macduff's vulnerability and purity. The comparison highlights the stark differences between them in terms of personality and morality.

Who do Macbeth and Lady Macbeth kill in the play?

The Macbeth family victim list is: King Duncan, his two chamberlains, Macbeth's fellow general Banquo, Lady Macduff and her children. Eventually Lady Macbeth kills herself. Macbeth also kills young Siward towards the end and McDonald along with young siward during the battle when the forest "walks" up to the castle. the above is not exactly true - Macbeth kills - the traitorous Macdonwald, (mentioned in 1.2). Duncan, his two sleeping chamberlains, and young Siward. That's it. He hires murderers to kill Banquo and Fleance (they only get Banquo), as well as to kill Macduff and his family (they only get her son, and presumably, Lady Macduff - but in the text she exits before being killed) There is no evidence that Lady Macbeth kills herself, other than a line that she "tis thought, by self and violent hands took off her life"
