He doesn't. He supports a path to citizenship for children who were brought here without their knowledge and have lived here all their lives: he wants to see the Dream Act passed, and it should be noted that President George W. Bush also wanted to see this happen. But President Obama does believe we need to fix our Immigration policies. His administration has protected the borders and deported record numbers of undocumented immigrants, but he acknowledges that millions of undocumented immigrants are here already and it is unrealistic to deport them all. He shares the belief that we need to find a way to give them a path to citizenship if they have been law-abiding and have contributed positively to American society.
