I've got a 92 98 road touring and it did this and all it was, was the sending unit. It is got an end cap on it and it was broken
Low oil pressure of a faulty oil pressure sending unit.
The 1985 Toyota Camry oil pressure sender is located on the left-hand side of the engine. The oil pressure sender will be just above of the oil pan.

if your gauge is showing zero oil pressure (or is intermittant) although you have sufficient oil level, it could be your oil sender/switch which also contains the oil pressure sensor. It is located against the housing your oil filter feeds to.

If the truck only has the idiot light type, the sender would be found in the passengers side of the engine block above the starter. If the truck has an oil pressure gauge, you will only see a copper tube coming the passengers side of the engine block above the starter. There is no sending unit for the mechanical oil pressure gauge type.
