Where can you get a wiring diagram for a 1979 Oldsmobile Regency 98?

Most local public libraries subscribe to the Mitchell Service Manuals for their reference room. These manuals are provided for American and Import vehicles by model year. They are further categorized by general topics such as Chassis, Electrical (includes all wiring diagrams), Engine Performance, Transmissions, Electrical Component Locator, and Air Conditioning. The books are compiled in binders that can be taken apart to allow page copies to be made.

AnswerThe only true reference book is the GM factory manual. There are two of them for the 1983 Oldsmobile 98. One is the electrical diagrams. The library in your town may have something but I will bet against it. I also will bet against any help from the Mitchell electical diagrams.Get on eBay and find your electrical manual.

How do you remove the factory stereo from a 1994 1998 Oldsmobile Regency?

You need to remove the plastic part of the dashboard that covers it. To do that remove the two small bolts at the very bottom (there just to the sides of the ashtray drawer and down a couple inches further), then pull the wooden looking trim (at the top of the panel) loose that runs all the way across the front of the car, it just clips in so pry it loose, just be careful not to break it. The top of the panel just clips in too, but it's not near as tight as the trim, so pull out at the bottom of the panel and it should come right off. Once that's off the stereo is held in by 3 screws. Take those out pull the stereo forward, disconnect the 32 pin connector and the antenna, and it's removed.

Antifreeze and Engine Coolant

If your 1998 Regency just started to blow cold and overheat could it be because you put some chicken oil in the coolant tank?

This is really good. The properties of Chicken oil in a vehicle cooling system was first discussed today. It is a no no. Chicken oil cannot maintain fluidity at low temperatures thus clogs the automobile's radiator with chicken fat deposits. This Clogged radiator therefore overheats. Overheaing causes high pressure which is soon released from a subsequent blowout of the radiator, hoses or the engine's gaskets. One clue to the probelm here is the pleasing smell of fried chicken.

On a 1994 Oldsmobile regency 98 where and which one is the ac blower motor relay?

Under the hood under the plastic maxifuse center on the firewall you will see several relays there. The blower relay is the 1st or 2nd on the left hand side. The other is the ac clutch relay - feel the one that clinks with the ac and the blower is the other one.

Water Pumps

Nissan Pathfinder

How do you replace the water pump on a 1993 Oldsmobile Regency?

I am assuming you have the 3800 fuel injected engine. remove the belt first thing. Now what seems wrapped arounf the water pump is the engine support. That stands in the way of the water pump bolts.Jack the engine up a bit as you are doing this. Really the rest after you do this is easy. I did it and the time to figure all this out was about an hour and another two hours to complete the job. Difficultily level from one to five maybe a 2. good luck.

Worry about the air after you get it running. may be out of freon. Some Sensors failing and not getting optimum cranking mixture. Wait 30 seconds after cut key on for pressure to build up in fuel rail before cranking? Dont pump gas pedal. Next try 1/4 pedal down then let up. assuming it is turning over; Do you have a spark? and do you have fuel in the fuel rail? Do you have a check engine light?

Car Fuses and Wiring

Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer

Is there a fuse that keeps the alternator charging?

No. The short summary is that there usually is a fuse or circuit breaker in the line coming out of the alternator that protects the alternator from a sudden surge in power from some outside source and which also protects the engine's electrical parts from a sudden surge that might somehow come from the alternator (very doubtful this would happen). But that fuse doesn't keep the alternator charging in the strict sense of the phrase. What stops an alternator from charging is internal parts failure such as the burn out of a rectifier, bearing failure or the belt which drives the alternator failing or coming loose and slipping excessively. Short of failures such as these an alternator will keep on charging as long as the belt is turning its pulley and causing the rotor inside the alternator to turn.

Why would the electric radiator cooling fans not run on 1992 98 Regency Elite Oldsmobile?

Blown fuse, loose, broken, or corroded wire, defective fan motor, or thermal switch. One fan only runs when the A/C is on. Disconnect the wired plug from the fan,rig up a set of wires and connect them directly to your car battery? If fan goes on more than likely it's your temperature sensor or a blown fuse or rotted wire from the plug? Main fuse panel is on the drivers side underneath the dash board, your manual should point out which fuse if for the blower? I had the same problem and checked out the fan connected directly to the car battery, the fan turned on so i checked the fuse and it was blown. Same thing on my sisters car,she has a Mustang. Her problem was a corroded plug,i cleaned it with an emory board and take took care of the problem?
