3, proud sponsors of The 3 Irish Open, today announced sponsorship of three-time Major Champion Padraig Harrington, with the 3 logo appearing on his shirt collar. Padraig Harrington will sport the 3 collar sponsorship for the duration of the 2009 Open Championship in Turnberry later this week and the Bridgestone PGA Invitational in Ohio from 4th August - 9th August 2009. The sponsorship follows 3's previous support of Padraig as winner of the US PGA Championship and 3's title sponsorship of the Irish Open earlier this year.
3 is delighted to be associated with Padraig Harrington's bid to win The Open Championship for the third year running, something not achieved in any of the four Majors since Peter Thomson in 1956. Padraig will partner former Major winners Jim Furyk and Geoff Ogilvy in the first two rounds of The Open Championship and goes into it having won a third consecutive Irish PGA Championship over the weekend.
Robert Finnegan, CEO of 3 said "We are proud to strengthen our association with Irish golf by supporting one of the country's finest players, and a world-class sportsman, Padraig Harrington. Our sponsorship of Padraig for these upcoming tournaments builds on 3's strategic involvement with Irish golf and we wish Padraig every success."
Padraig Harrington said "I am proud to represent 3 and hope that I can repeat the result obtained when I last carried the 3 brand at the 2008 USPGA Championship"

A polo shirt is T-shaped shirt with a collar, typically a two- or three-button placket, and an optional pocket. Without collar, a shirt can not be called polo shirt.
The collar position options for this shirt are buttoned-up or unbuttoned.
A shirt collar can be ironed by laying the collar as flat as possible. Using the tip of the iron is best to get into corners easily.
A cravat is worn inside a shirt collar.
The button on the back collar of a shirt is called a collar button. It helps the collar keep its shape and stay in place, giving the shirt a more polished look. It can also provide extra support for ties or bowties.
To turn a shirt collar, start by unbuttoning the collar and flattening it out. Gently lift the collar points and fold the collar down, ensuring it sits evenly on both sides. Adjust the collar to lay flat against the shirt's neckline and smooth out any wrinkles. Finally, button the collar back up if needed for a polished look.
The top part of a shirt is called the collar. It is the part that goes around the neck area.
Difference between polo shirts and Rugby ( golf shirts) is Collar. Each polo shirt has a kitted collar while the Rugby shirt has a two piece collar ( may be woven collar).
