i just had mine into the dealer for that and he is telling me I need a new ABS computer module

There is TC button near the gear stick, but if is not, then you have to make it by yourself.

You should suspect the rear brakes for this one...maybe at their wear limit and keeps the light on....Possibly the front brakes...This IS a 2000 model.

Inside glove box to the left of storage area on the facing is a small round traction control button that looks like a trunk button. From what I can tell it will automatically go back on next time you start car which is good for safety.

It's possible one of the ABS / Traction Control wheel sensors was knocked off line during the transmission operation. I would suggest asking the repair shop to inspect the front sensors and double check they were plugged back in & the wiring looks okay. If they are equipped to read ABS trouble codes, that would be very handy - otherwise, you'll have to find a good tire shop / repair shop / dealer to check for any error codes to diagnose why your traction control light is on. It is your choice. If you want the Traction Control to be activated then I would just leave it on. I never turn mine off.
