Float level too high. Have the float level adjusted. IF IT WAS A Ford I WOULD SAY IGNITION MODULE AND BE CONFIDENT WITH THAT ANSWER. BUT A CADI ITS POSSIBLE ITS THE MODULE I HAVE SEEN THEM DO STRANGER THINGS (I THINK ITS RIGHT TURNS ON FORD MODULES)LOL Loose wire or other shtuff shorting out the ignition? Float answer sounds real good.

Pistons lacking in skirts. If it continues after the engine is warmed up then you have something more severe going on.
NO, it will not damage the vehicle engine by turning the heater ON before the engine has warmed up fully.

It should idle at aprox 650 rpms warmed up.
The engine on your 04 5.3L Chevy Tahoe could be knocking until it warmed up because of a bad fuel-air mixture. . The wrong oil could also be a cause.

The crank sensor had to be replaced on my 98 Catera when it was doing the same thing. I had to take it to the dealer to have this done.
You may have a bad cat (and/or engine is not properly tuned). Make sure engine is properly tuned and do not use heavy acceleration until engine is warmed up.
Had the same problem, try changing the plug wires, it worked for mine
If the engine is warmed up, the thermostat has opened and coolant is circulating, the pump is pumping.
