2-stroke engines produce much more power than 4-stroke.
In a 2 stroke, every second stroke of the engine is a power stroke. In a 4 stroke, every 4th stroke of the engine is a power stroke. Knowing this, a 2 stroke has double the power as a 4, in the same cc
2 stroke
2 Strokes make much more power per cc than 4 strokes. For example a 2 stroke 125 and a 4 stroke 250 both make about the same power 4 strokes have much more low end torque though
2 stroke, more power and torque = more speed 4 stroke, more reliable
the banshee is faster. more power, 2 stroke, quick, more rpms.
very large is the keyword here. for a very large engines that runs large machines, we need high power engines. two-strike cycle engines produce more power than 4-stroke cycle engines. that's why they are used. as they produce more pollution than 4-strokes, they must be limited to small spaced engines machines or large machines that required very high power.
For a set amount of power, they're heavier, bigger and use more parts than a 2-stroke engine.
2 srokes have powerband (response) and they rev higher = more power
Usually, it's the other way around. For the same fuel, engine size etc, 2-strokes will spin faster than 4-strokes. if it's about the speed of the vehicle, the big thing isn't 2-stroke vs 4-stroke, but power, or power-to-weight ratio. For the same amount of weight, a 2-stroke can make more power than a 4-stroke. But in a vehicle where weight isn't that important, the vehicle that makes the most power is likely to be the faster.
2 stroke means it takes two strokes for a power stroke and 4 sroke takes four strokes for power stroke so in otherwise 2 strokes are way faster and more torqey
the 2 stroke has more rpm than 4 stroke because it has less moving parts and the cycles are faster because there is only 2 and in the 4 stroke there is 4
