If you have not recently changed the water in your tank, then you should do that immediately. Make sure the new water is the same temperature as the old water, and that you use the recommended dosage of water conditioner per the instructions on the bottle.
If you have a very small tank, then you may need to change 100% of the water; if you have a 10 gallon or larger, change at least 75% of the water.

Why do dead fish sink to the bottom of the tank?

All drains lead to the ocean, but when your fish dies, it is actually better to bury it because if it died from a disease, then the disease could survive the sewage system and stay in sink water. When people fill up their fish bowls, the disease could still be in the water, killing hundreds of local fish. MORAL OF STORY:Don't flush dead fish down the toilet.Bury them.
