Check the gas cap there is a possibility that the vent is clogged and causing a vapor lock.
usually the factory alarm
The idle speed control valve was bad.
I have the same problem in my ram van 3.9. Did you figure it out yet?
My 2003 Chevy Tracker would not restart when it was hot and finally would stall & not restart until it sat and cooled off for 10 minutes. It would crank but not start. We replaced the camshaft it solved the problem. It was located at the back of the engine, at the top and is held by just one screw.
cam position sensor has failed
I can start my car fine, drive it for awhile, then its like after it gets warm it seems to stall, and shut off, then after tryin to restart a few times that battery acts as if its dead. I will sit there and wait for about 20-30 minutes and it will start right up like nothing happened, just to do it all over again. Can you tell me what the problem is?
crank sensor is bad... when it gets warmed up... it'll send bad data to the spark device and will stall out
If it is the 7.3L diesel .I would check the crank sensor.
check the fuel filter, may be clogged.
It could be a clogged fuel filter, a bad fuel pump, or a loose wire. If the engine starts up after a few minutes and runs for a short while, the fuel pump and wiring are good and the filter is most likely clogged, If the engine will not restart at all, start by looking for a loose or disconnected wire before taking on the task of working on the fuel pump.
Your car backfires when you need a new transmission,or tune up. How do you know the difference? Simple...if your car backfires then wont start, or wont start and then backfires, you need a transmission. If it backfires, and then starts moments after, you need a tune-up. Glad to help...David
does it stall/ have lack of power. has it ever overheated? cylinter walls may be warped.
