Because the Heater Core is Bad. Are you sure its antifreeze that's leaking? It could just be condensation dripping off the a/c - least that's what my mechanic told me.
You have a leak in the system . Get it checked and repaired before it damages the engine.
i have replaced the fan, ( it does work when i attatch the code reader), the ac switch light does turn on, i have checked the fuses, all seem to be working, i am stumpted.
The "antifreeze smell out the AC vents" would mean only one thing, you have a small leak in the heater core.
If you have the defroster on, the ac comes on automatically.
your heater core is leaking anitfreeze! heatercoreleaks antifreeze into the heater & ac vents causing a burnt spell & oily film on the front window.
I dought it is the a/c leaking there, It is probably a leak in the cowl or windshield. Get inside with a flash light and have someone spray the out side with a hose and see where it is comming in. if it is leaking antifreeze it is a bad heater core
why dose all the antifreeze leak out when you turn on the ac from your 2000 honda accored
You have antifreeze leaking from somewhere that is hitting something hot and turning it to steam. When you turn on the AC the fan is pulling it into the vents. Keep track of your engine collant levels and if they are lowering then there is your problem!!
yup, sign of a bad heater core
Not antifreeze, that is special oil for the ac compressor with some dye in it to help trace refrigerant leaks.
no
The ac pump may be seized up.
turn on the ac and open the door or window
if the mist is water, it's just condensation. but if it's antifreeze then you have a leak in your core. If it's water it will evaporate without leaving a stain, if it's antifreeze it will streak when you try to whip it off.
You can turn the temperature of the AC up but if you turn the fan part of the AC up "high" or "low" it will only make it colder.
why does my ford focus over heat when i turn the ac on
My first instinct is to say "Your kidding me rite?". However, I'm curious, why do you fell you need to winterize your AC unit?. My second question is what type of AC unit do you have?
Only reason would be that the heater core is leaking.
