∙ 12y agoUsually this happens when your hire date is after the pay period so you fall between pay checks. This means you will be paid for that week on the next pay check. Some places get paid once a month so you may work a full month before you get paid. This is what happens to teachers. They begin work in mid Aug, but the pay period runs to the end of Sept.
