Paper is cellulose and composed of C, H, O. Product of combustion is water and carbon dioxide. Heat of formation of carbon dioxide is lower than water hence more energy release from reaction. The oxygen in it,s structure is readily to bond with carbon or hydrogen thus lesser energy available for release. When compare paper to coal which is mostly C-C bond and most product is CO2 energy available in coal is much higher. General figure for heat ofvcombustion is comparing 28.5 kJ/kg lignite to 15.8 kJ/kg paper.

They produce electricity be burning coal and then the coal is used to heat, light and do lots of other things.

What is burning coal?

Burning coal is an exothermic reaction as it give heat

What can a burning coal do for a power palnt?

burning coal releases heat, and that heat turns a turbine, which generates electricity.

What type of energy is given off by burning coal?

when burning coal it gives off heat energy

How is coal used in a power station?

the coal is crushed first then the coal is passed for burning

What is coal used to produce?

Coal is used to produce heat and electricity.

How is coal converted into other forms of energy?

Coal is normally burned to produce heat. This is done by burning the coal with oxygen from the atmosphere. The process unites carbon and oxygen to produce carbon dioxide and the formation of the chemical bonds in this process releases energy as heat. Burning one ton of coal creates about 3 tons of carbon dioxide. The additional mass comes from the oxygen taken from the atmosphere.

What energy does burning coal give?

Burning coal gives heat (thermal), light and sound energy.

Is burning coal an exothermic chemical reaction?

Yes, burning coal is exothermic, in fact, that is why people burn coal. It produces heat.

What is the energy input of burning coal?

Heat

Can the energy of coal burning heat up water?

Yes, this is done in all coal burning power plants

What types of energy can burning coal produce?

The burning becomes heat energy. The heat boils water to make steam, which then turns a turbine, which is kinetic energy. The turbine can power a power generator, producing electric energy, which can then produce almost any kind of energy.
