You probably have a faulty fuel gauge sending unit.
Well, usually there are several possible problems that can do this. Some of the more common problems that people experience with their fuel gauge is that it reads empty at all times, another is that it reads constantly full, but the most common problem is when the gauge will read differently at different times, fill the tank and it will read empty, be about a quarter of a tank down and it will read full, that sort of thing. In the more common cases, the problem is with the fuel level sending unit, I do not know much as to how to fix it, but I have seen several websites that give advice on this problem.

There typically isn't a separate fuse for the fuel gauge - it's a shared circuit, and you'd lose a lot more than your fuel gauge if that circuit lost continuity. If your fuel gauge isn't working, you're more likely looking at a bad fuel sending unit, not a fuse.
More than likely the fuel gauge sending unit inside the fuel tank is shot.
Temperature gauge reads signals off the coolant temperature sensor. It can also point to a faulty thermostat. If your car runs rough in cold, idles rough and uses up more fuel then coolant temperature sensor is your problem. They are normaly a cheap and easy diy to do.
The fuel cap has no effect on the fuel gauge and there is no "reset" for this. More than likely the problem is with fuel sending unit in the tank. A less likely cause is incorrect levels of additives in fuel, this can cause the gauge to flucuate erratically.

Not sure what you mean by "fuel sensor". Is it fuel injector? O2 sensor? Fuel gauge sending unit? More info please.
More than likely the float is bad on the fuel pump, so i would recommend that you change the fuel pump.
