The gasket on the tank access hole is dried out or damaged. Replace that and you'll probably solve the problem.
You may have a leak from the top area of the fuel tank. You may have a leak from the top area of the fuel tank.
Yes, and they will wash the windows, top off your fluids, vaccum out your car, and replace your wipers, granted that the accident wasnt your fault.
fill tank, to top of neck, watch the leak area, [don,t start it]
Yes
It's too full.
Check the evaporative canister under the hood for raw fuel. It is that black can with vacuum and wires running to the top. Good answer above. If you fill the tank and smell it, but it goes away after the fuel level goes down, you could have a leak where the fill tube joins the tank. There could even be a leak in the tank itself. Ran across that one a few years ago in a 2001 Chevy Caprice...couldn't find the leak anywhere until the tank was removed, filled with water, then flexed...the leak was at the top of the tank.
It is located on top or around the gas tank.
That depends on how it's ben taken care of, a way to find out is to trip the odometer when you fill the gas tank (do not top the tank off), next time you put gas in the tank, fill it up (do not top the tank off) divide the mileage by the gas used, do this at least 3 times to get your average mpg.
Yes. See http://tunfs.yuku.com/topic/6458.
Well, its sounds to me like a leak has developed possibly on the top half of the fuel tank.It could be that once the fuel has gone below the leak area you would not notice the gas smell. Lay a piece of cardboard under the fuel tank area and watch for any sign of a leak over night. Make sure your tank is full when you do this. You may have to drop the tank to repair or have your local mechanic perform the repair.
They've hidden them in the fuel tanks. You'll have to drop the fuel tank. After you've pulled the pump, be sure to check the metal fuel line that goes from the pump to the top of the tank. If it has a leak, your motor will seem to run out of gas when the fuel level in the tank goes below the level of the leak in the line. Your fuel gauge may read half full but your van won't run until you fill the tank.
One is for the fill line to put gas in, the other is probab;y for the sensor to tell how mush gas is in the tank.
