It's all a matter of language really. Anything that you choose to describe as 'hot'

virtually always has a higher temperature than something you describe as 'cold'.

What were Einstein's first words?

either 'the milk is hot' or 'cold soup'

Why does your arm feel cold when you reach inside the refrigerator to get a container of milk?

Thermoreceptors send signals to the posterior hypothalamus.

Can milk float in water?

Although you might think milk fats would likely float on water, milk also contains other solids like proteins and sugars, which make it barely heavier than water. So usually no - at the same temperature and pressure, ordinary homogenized cow milk would sink in water. A gallon of milk is heavier than a gallon of water.

Is a gallon of milk heavier than a gallon of water or vice versu?

Milk weighs more because it is more dense.Answer:Milk is a complex mixture containing sugars, salts, lipids and proteins. As a consequence its mass/volume or density and its specific gravity vary with the type of cow and the specific cow.To minimize variables the milk or water must be at the same temperature as the density of water increases as the temperature lowers (until 4oC). The density of milk = 1.003073 - 0.000179t - 0.000368F + 0.00374N, where t = temperature in degrees C; F = percent fat; and N = percent nonfat solid. Comparing the resulting data for several types of cattle, the mean specific gravity of Holstein milk at 20 C/20 C is 1.0330 (range 1.0268 to 1.0385) and for Ayrshire milk is 1.0317 (range 1.0231 to 1.0357), while Jersey milk also has a mean of 1.0330 (range 1.0240 to 1.0369). [see Sherbon JW, Physical Properties of Milk, Chapter 8 in Wong et al, 1988]Milk is more dense than water by 2% to 4%. This is about the weight of penny per litre.

Why will milk in a saucer cool faster than milk in a glass?

Cooling due to simple evaporation at a surface is clearly simpler when the surface is large, such as the saucer. The cooling is due to the molecules that have more energy breaking free of the surface. Hence the average temperature of the remainder lowers.

Explain how cold milk cools hot cocoa?

it makes it taste better and it is cold

How does cold milk cools hot cocoa?

since there is kinetic energy in both hot and cold objects the particle in the hot objects move fast causing heat and the particles in the cold object move slower so the cold kinetic energy can cause the hot kinetic to become cooler in other words When you pour cold milk into hot cocoa the milk and cocoa particles start to collide. When a high-energy cocoa particle hits a low-energy milk particle, energy transfers. The cocoa particles slow down and the cup of cocoa cools down.

Why does milk chocolate melt faster than dark?

Milk chocolate contains more fat, milk / milk fats / milk solids, and sugar, while dark chocolate contains a higher percentage of cocoa powder in it. The milk and fats are what melt at a lower temperature. Since dark chocolate has more cocoa powder and less fats, it will take longer to melt.

Which is better hot Cocoa just made Or with milk?

I believe you are asking 'is hot cocoa better hot or cold'. If you make 'hot cocoa' with cold milk the cocoa will not dissolve and you will end up with lumpy not very well mixed chocolate milk.

What makes chocolate stronger?

less milk A higher concentration of cocoa.

What causes the energy transfer in a cup of hot cocoa when cold milk is added?

The energy transfer is due to collision of the particles and or molecules. Cold milk has particles with less average kinetic energy. Hot cocoa has particles with a higher average kinetic energy. When mixed the particles collide and some transfer of KE takes place until they have a new average KE which is between that of the 2 separate substances. This means that the new temperature will be 'warm' or between the 2 original temperatures.

Is milk from nipples warm or cold?

Since the normal average body temperature is 98.6F any fluids within a living body will be at least that temperature or a little higher. Breasts are not refrigerators; breasts produce warm milk.

What is the milk when you dissolve cocoa power into milk?

The cocoa powder is the solute, and the milk is the solvent.- - - - -Cocoa powder doesn't dissolve in milk. It forms a "suspension." The milk is a carrier.

Does white chocolate have milk?

Not necessarily. White Chocolate is made by using cocoa butter but not the cocoa solids. There is milk in it, but more sugar is added to make up the bulk. Dark chocolate can be either milk chocolate (chocolate made with milk, but with cocoa solids as well as cocoa butter) or plain chcocolate (chocolate made with cocoa solids and cocoa butter but without milk). If you add white chocolate to milk chocolate then the result will be a very sweet milk chocolate. If you add white chocolate to plain chocolate, the result will be a milk chocolate

Is cocoa mix same as baking cocoa?

Powdered Cocoa is a powder made from cacao seeds after they have been fermented, roasted, shelled, ground, and freed of most of their fat. It is used mostly in baking and making fudge, but can be used to make hot chocolate. Cocoa Mix is this mixture of cocoa powder, dry milk and sugar. It is combined with cold or boiling water to make a cold or hot, chocolate-flavored beverage.
