Children are easy to manipulate and if he gets them to kill their parents he can say they did it and not him. When the parents are gone he can take their place. A child being forced to do those horrible thing, often after being tortured and raped, dies a little inside. They hide inside and another persona takes place in order to survive all the horrible thing. The children becomes killing machines without a conscience. That doesn't work with adults who's had a good childhood. It's the childhood that molds us to what we become as adults. There are places that welcomes these children and it takes a long long time, many years, until they become like normal children again. If ever. No one wants to come out and feel scared and emotional knowing that they have killed people. Feelings hurt. Uganda is not the only country with child soldiers though.
