Most wells do not use pulleys. The traditional style simply winds the rope around the shaft. The mechanical advantage is made by the length of the crank handle, in relation to the diameter of the accumulated rope on the shaft.

If there is no faster head visible then it likely is attached with a clip on the backside of the crank handle. slip the handle between the handle and door panel to remove the clip.

They sell a window crank removal tool to open the cotter in and slide off the winow crank handle. Slide the tool under the window handle and push the cotter pin back, off comes the handle

Well, to answer my own question... :-) There is a "U" shaped clasp that you pull off the crank right behind the handle. Very simple! Then.. when putting the window crank back on, just put the clasp on the handle, then push it on the crank! It'll click right in. Happy Fixin'!
There is a "U" shaped clip on the handle. That is all that holds it on.
There is a retaining ring just on the inside of the handle. Once you get that off the crank will come off.
