The most likely, and expensive, explanation is a cracked cylinder head or leaking head gasket. If the exhaust blows white smoke when hot and smells sweet like sugar, you have a major engine repair. The liquid that flows out when you start the car is coolant that has condensed back into liquid after the exhaust system cools.
