Trouble code P0505 means: Idle Air Control System
If the idle is set too high, and you have an automatic transmission, this will happen. A sticking throttle cable or rod can also do this.
clean or replace your idle air control valve.
High Idle.
You don't. If the idle is not within factory spec there is a problem that needs to be diagnosed, such as the idle speed control unit for example.
check your idle intake valve for proper operation, to check means you would consult the test procedure in a published repair manual from either the manufacturer or auto repair store (haynes or chilton). hope this gets the tacoma running!
buy a toyota !! Problem solved
My 1990 Toyota Celica Idle is too high... What seems to be the problem?
Most likely, the alternator is going out. It puts out more at higher RPM's, so it would charge more going down the road than it would at idle. Good Luck!!!
