My 2002 525i BMW has the same reading on my dash and my car won't even turn over even though the battery and spark plugs are new and the alternator checked out fine. I have no idea what's going on either.
check for bare wires or short in the wiring to the rear lights
Check your fuses! If they're all good I would next check the wireing on your stereo. I had a loose wire once back there and it made my instrument cluster's lights not work when I had the headlights on and I had to guess my speeds at night.
It turns the back up LIGHTS on, on the rear of the truck.
under back seat
under the back seat
Check the back of the car.
Try to replace the lights first. If they still don't work check the fuse. If that is good, it is most likely your back up light switch which is on the transmission(this is most likely your problem since both lights are out).
hire a dectective
Check bulbs Check switch
Check the fuses first. If the fuses are ok check the reverse switch. The switch is under the dash on some models, and on the transmission on others. A bad or misaligned switch is the most likely cause for no back up lights.
Hi just browsing for my answers got them, back to your answer, my black 2002 vw sharan has 2 rear fog lights, i always thought it was 1 as my vw passat only had 1 but i saw the sharan has 2, definitely. open and check, the bulb housing is wired with plates for the fog bulb on both sides.
Assuming you mean brake lights, the brake light switch is broken or out of adjustment.
