It Could Be Several Things But From Your Question I Would Check To See If You Are Getting Gas To The Injectors. Turn The Key On & Off Several Times With The Hood Raised You Should Find A Pressure Test Port ( Looks Like A Tire Valve ) After Turning Key On & Off Several Times Press Valve Open +++ Gasoline Should Spray Out Strong. If Not You Could Be Out Of Fuel, Pump Bad & Yes Filter Stopped Up. Most Likely Pump Not Running Due To Being Burned Out Or Fuse. Have Good Mechanic Test. Best To You
your alero wil start stalling and eventually stop..
I have a 2003 Alero While it sits in the sun for hours it will not start up and when the sun goes down it will start what could be the problem
battery is shot?
Does the new pump run? if yes then is there spark at the plugs? also did you replace the fuel filter?
Could be several reasons. Start with checking the basics like fuel and spark. If you're losing spark it could be a bum ignition module or a bad crank sensor. If you're not losing spark, check fuel related issues like a plugged/dirty fuel filter then if the fuel filter checks ok have a fuel pressure test done. Even a bad MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor could do that. Also, have the ECM checked for codes.
Every 50,000 miles, is not easy to do, you have to take out the pan under the car at the left side. Remplace the filter and the gasket... be sure before start to buy the filter kit, around $22 dollars.
Hi..I recently had troubles with my alero, and it was the intake manifold gasket, which i guess is a common problem with 2000 alero's...i would get that checked out
It could, a plugged fuel filter can cause a hard/no start.
The fuel filter could cause a start and stall. Other causes could include the fuel pump, computer, various sensors, and ignition system.
First of all- the stupid question- have you put more gas in it? Secondly, I had a car run out of gas and then wouldn't start and it was because the fuel filter clogged, so no gas was making it to the engine. You may need to replace the fuel filter. Not sure if that is it or not, but the best guess I've got.
it could be a bad fuel filter and fuel pump
what if he gas is going to the engine but the car want start?
