Where is the knock sensor located and how hard is it to replace on a 2001 Mazda Millenia?

29's here i have a 97 Mazda millenia 2.5 and have had the knock sensor replaced. all the Mazda 2.5 motors 95-02 are the same so i can tell you that its located in the center of the engine only accessible from the top of the motor underneath the intake and fuel rails (which have to be removed in order access the sensor). the gasket for the intake can not be reused and must be replaced. this a repair that a standard mechanic should be able to perform. hope this helps. It is underneath the supercharger support bracket on the 2.3L.

How do you replace the ecu on a 2002 Mazda millenia?

to get at the ecu(or pcm, as Mazda calls it) you pull the radio head unit. it is behind it. and it is IN there. the hardest part is to disconnect the wire harness's, which are BEHIND it, and really hard to get at. pry off the carpet by the accelerator, and you will see the connectors. it might be easier to pry off the connectors before unbolting the unit. removing it will test your mettle.

How do you remove the headlight assembly on a Mazda millenia?

Open hood and remove the hard plastic cover over the headlight and radiator; this will expose most of the mounting screws. Then remove the corner lamp by removing the retaining screw at the top corner of the headlamp; this will expose the remaining mounting screws.

Are 1995 Mazda millenia good cars?

Mazda Millenia's are good cars. But they are VERY hard to work on - little room in the engine compartment. Also since they are rare cars new parts are expensive and junk yards with used parts harder to come by. They all have rubber timing belts that have to be changed on schedule together with the water pump - which is an expensive procedure because of the previous. So the older the car - the more expensive it will be to maintain unless you have a knowledgeable mechanic or do the work yourself. Not for the faint of heart. When they are maintained well - they are Great cars and very reliable.

Your Mazda hesitates up hill and on turns anyone know what it could be?

Not sure, but it sounds like a weak fuel pump or clogged fuel filter . If the fuel pump is located in the tank, gas could be sloshing around on turns and inclines a weak fuel pump would have a hard time picking the fuel up. hope this help

What causes knocking sounds in a 2002 Mazda millenia?

what caused knocking sounds for me was a pully on the serpentine belt that was attached to the power steering pump. the pump gasket busted which in turned damaged the pully. If you have a lift it is not too hard to replace. Doing while you're vehicle is on stands is a nightmare. its about a 650 fix at a mechanic...

IS accelerating hard bad for a car?

Hard acceleration is not that hard on the car. It is hard on the wallet as it will eat 4 times as much fuel. Having said that, WOT acceleration time after time will usually take out your transmission first as they always seem to be the weakest link.

What happens to the acceleration when something slows down?

Deaceleration, I'm in basic physics and i know that. its not that hard. but it is a type of acceleration.
