out of gas
Could be a number of things such as plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, catalytic converter, TPS sensor ECT...
If the fuel gauge isn't working on a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer it could possibly be because the float is stuck in the fuel tank. I had this problem when I got my 99 blazer, the float and sensor for the fuel gauge is on the fuel pump which is in the fuel tank to keep it temperature regulated. I had to replace my fuel pump, which ended up going bad on me, and after it was replaced the gauge works just fine.
mine died because of a faulty fuel pump
The fuel pump is shorting out and that is why the ecm fuse is blowing .Disconnect the the fuel pump and try it again,if the fuse blow's again then it is not the fuel pump.
they keep you from dying they keep you from dying
its a bad fuel pump. it works enough to keep it running but it isn't putting out enough pressure.
My first thought is that the fuel pump is going bad and is drawing too many amps, second would be a wire grounding against metal.
check into your fuel pump. you should hear a short hum when you turn the key to your red lights come on.
The engine coolant sensor could be at fault.
It can be either of the two. Check all and then you can be sure. You say the truck keeps dying - is this to say it will run for a short time and then die? If so, then the fuel pump is able to supply fuel but the engine is not receiving enough to keep running. If the fuel pump was bad, the truck would not start. The fuel filter would be the primary suspect since a clogged filter will restrict the flow of fuel to the engine.
you need at least 50 psi to run and 55 or so to keep it running thats with cpi engine the others use less pressure and a different fuel pump....
It needs replaced. I have read some TEC. sheets and Chevy now says to keep the fuel tank at least 1/2 full at all times are the fuel pump will get hot. A bad fuel filter will also cause the pump to get HOT and quit.
