The most likely cause is a bad blower motor resistor.
The problem is either the blower motor resistor or the blower speed selector switch.
The blower motor speed resister may be burned out.
Usually if the resistor is bad the heater will only run on full blast.
Defective heater blower motor resistor pack.
most vehicles have one circuit(and one fuse) for the first 3 fan speeds and a separate circuit and fuse for the highest speed.AnswerCHECK THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR
The blower motor speed resistor is burned out.
Either the blower motor resistor went bad or the blower motor speed control switch has gone bad.
turn the heater on full blast, that will make use of the heater core to help cool things down.
Start the car, turn the heater/blower on full, The hose that is the hottest is the Inlet. The coolest is the Outlet.
The heater or blower motor on my 91 previa works some time but has'nt now for the last month. I hear a humming sound that lasts for 10 seconds or so and then seems to kick out. It will do this twice with a gap of a few minutes in between when i start the vehicle in the morn.then it doesnt do this again until i let it sit for hours.i have heat but cant get the full effect because the blower wont kick in to circulate it. Also the blower only works on high when it works.any suggestions?
1) Check the blower motor, make sure it is not making any weird noises.2) Check the blower motor resistor, its located next to the motor. It is what controls the lower speeds of the motor. You can try to find one at the junkyard.
If the engine is at the proper temperature and the coolant is full, you have a restricted heater core.
