Why does my computer drives opens in a new window even though the folder option is set to open in the same window?

Go into "Tools" at the top of the window and select "Folder Options". Under the "Browse Folders" header, select "Open Each Folder In Same Window". Click Apply. That should solve your problem

if you have windows plug it in to the usb port located on your computer. Wait a bit and a window should pop up. When it does click open a folder to view files. If a window doesn't pop up go to my computer and look for it there. Paste files into the folder then unplug the usb. Put the usb into another computer and open the folder in. You can take the files and put them into the other computer. That is how you use a usb drive. 1 gb isn't a huge amount of space though.

Perhaps the computer crashed or was forced to shut down during installation of a windows update, and that caused the temporary folder with the update code to be not deleted after installation.
