Yes!
When you send a certified letter, the person receiving it has to sign a receipt acknowledging it was delivered and received. The receipt (or a copy) is sent to the person who mailed it to prove that the letter was delivered and received. This eliminates the excuse "I never received it" - especially in legal matters.
You either do not have this option activated and/or are outside of your network's coverage area.
If you lose the receipt with the delivery confirmation, there is no way you can retrieve it. Even if you call 1800-ASK-USPS. Trust me I just tried after I noticed no one answered you question. Hopefully this will help anybody else asking the same question.Note to self: HOLD ON TO THAT RECEIPT!
Remit a "cease and desist" letter to the agency via registered mail with receipt requested.
That's the correct spelling you have there.
if you have requested a 'read receipt', then you will get an email confirming that it was opened ONLY IF the recipient consents to the request for the receipt. if you did not request a 'read receipt', then you cannot know if the email was opened unless the recipient responds.
I don't know of a way to delete it once the recipient has read it, but I do know there is a way to request a read receipt, which allows the user to have the option of notifying you that he/she has read it, and once you receive this notification, then you can delete the email yourself. To do this: from http://email.about.com/cs/oetipstricks/qt/et060701.htm To request a read receipt for an individual message in Windows Mail or Outlook Express:Select Tools from the message's menu.Make sure Request Read Receipt is checked. When the recipient of the message opens it, she is asked to notify you that she has opened and read the mail. To request read receipts for all messages in Outlook Express: Select Tools | Options... from the menu.Go to the Receipts tab.Make sure Request a read receipt for all sent messagesis checked.Click OK.To send a message without the request for a read receipt with the default setting on, select Tools | Request Read Receipt from the message's menu to make sure the item is unchecked. To request a Return Receipt for only one email:In the text window, Go to Options and Hit Return Receipt, this will allow you to request a return receiptTo Request Return Receipts for all emails:Go to Tools -> Options -> Composition -> Return ReceiptsThen mark "When sending messages, always request a return receipt."
You mean, receipt? no. if the gamecube is crappy and it doesn't work, you need the receipt to return it.
All you can do is ask them if they do. eMail does not have built in support for this.
can I exchange a fairly new pool pump at lowes that doesn't work without a receipt
Yes you do have to have the receipt because in case your iPod touch didn't work and you didn't have the receipt then the people who works in the store isn't going to replace it.
You cannot tell if your e-mail has been viewed or read although Outlook users can request a read receipt.
If you read you will find out! I havn't gotten to the end but so far its great. Sorry that i'm no help
Fax machines are still used because they are faster than a courier or mail to send a document, and give a "confirmaiton of message received" (a confirmation page) that email does not do (email has an option to have a read receipt, but that is only if the receiving party agrees to send the read receipt).
