Shift pattern from neutral is 1 down, 5 up.
wont down shift
1 up 4 down
the gears are as followed 1(super low) N,2,3,4 you pull up to shift down and press down to shift up
Grind down a 1/2 inch square socket, works great
1 down, 4 up...she's a five speed.
clutch in, press down on the shift lever for first, up for 2-6

The pattern is a standard one down, four up if foot-pegs and toe shifting.With floorboards and a paddle shift, first gear is down with your toe, and 2-3-4-5 are down with your heel on the paddle.
One down, that being first. The rest are all up, being second through fifth.
Backwards to the current standard. Neutral then down for 1 down for two etc. It was my first bike and I had a hard time learning my second.
I just bought one of these myself. It's a tough call to say really. First gear sucks it, you need to get out of first really as soon as you are moving a little bit. From there, I sort of play it by ear if you here to strong a rev, shift up or down depending on if you need to slow or speed up.
