I'm not entirely sure. The only thing I can thing of is if the system is hot, like during a hot day, then then the oil mixed in with the refrigerant is going to be thinner than if it's cold. Maybe the oil is to thick for the compressor to run easily when it's cold. That's just a guess. If anyone else has any ideas, please post them!
