I can give you a partial answer. I have had the same problem on my 2003 Passat wagon. I took it in and the AC checked out fine. This morning it was cool, so I had the AC off--just ran "econ" on the climate control. Same problem--warm air mixed in intermittently with the cool air, even though I had the temperature setting all the way to the bottom. Problem then is not with the AC but with the heater. Car is putting heated air into the cabin regardless of the temp settings. Next step is to take it in and have that checked out.

I don't think it blows warm air... but if your talking about the part thats stays outside it blows warm air thats in your home and the part inside "replaces" the warm air with cool air..
The Volkswagen Passat has front, side, and rear air bags. It has child safety locks for the windows and doors. There is also noted an emergency release trunk button.

This was my original search question..."Why did my air conditioner stop blowing on my 2000 VW Passat." But wiki changed the whole thing and then posted it! Don't bother anwering.
why does ac blow warm air? why does ac blow warm air?
Your climate control in your 1998 Ford E250 Cargo Van blows cold air when in heat position and sometimes it blows warm air when in the cold position?
Depends, but a Continental or Maritime tropical airmass can advect warm air in.
The OEM part number for a mass air flow sensor on a 2001 Volkswagen Passat is located on the part themselves. The number for this part is 0280218063.
