He does not invite Odysseus back to the island.
He thought it was a waist of time and that it was stupid,
Odysseus is driven by curiosity toward the Cyclopes of the island. His crewmen wish to take the Cyclops's (Polyphemus) cheeses and sheep, however, and head back to the ship to resume their journey.
If I recall correctly, Odysseus was shouting insults back at the Cyclops. This would show that he is arrogant. I also remember that he receives his just desserts when the Cyclops throws a giant boulder at his ship.
Not a good one - blinded by Odysseus, Polyphemus asked his father, the god of the sea Poseidon, for vengeance. Poseidon fixed things so that he spent 10 hazardous years wandering the sea before he got back to his kingdom of Ithaca.Another take:The present or 'gift' that the Cyclops promises Odysseus is to eat Odysseus's crew first, and save Odysseus for last.Answer 3:A ram that he later uses for sacrifice in the underworld.
The Cyclops that Odysseus blinded was the son of Poseidon. The God of the sea. He asked his father to kill Odysseus or do what ever he can to keep him from sailing home. When Odysseus landed on the cyclops island he went inside the cave and fed on cheese and sheep. The cyclops came back to the cave and closed the rock doorway, The cyclops turned around and ate one of Odysseus's' men. Odysseus offered him wine, because it was the drink of the gods. Cyclops took a bowl of wine and slurped it up. He was then drunk,Odysseus took a sword and stabbed the cyclops in his one and only eye. Odysseus used him when he was drunk to move the large boulder out of the doorway. Odysseus and his men escaped from the cave by hanging onto the sheep. The men were off freely without the cyclops knowing. Until, Odysseus had to show off and say something to the cyclops. The cyclops got angry and started to throw rocks at the crew and ship. Luckily, the crew was Abel to get away not touched.
Odysseus blinded Poseidon's son's eye who is a Cyclops. So he was cursed that can not go back home. He tried to go back home in the Odyssey.
Odysseus and his escaped crew go first back to the rest of the ships. After sacrificing the large ram, and feasting on the meat, they set sail and arrive at Aeoli, home of Aeolus.
The Cyclops was the son of Poseidon, who was already angry at Odysseus. The Cyclops made it worse by praying to Poseidon that Odysseus would have a very long and hard journey back to his home of Ithaca.
At first the Cyclops, Polyphemus, believes that the person who blinded him is named "Nobody" because that is what Odysseus told him. Once Odysseus is on a boat fleeing the island he yells back and tells Polyphemus that it was he who blinded him. Angered and shocked once more, Polyphemus tries to hit them with a giant rock but misses and calls for help from his father, Poseidon, making Odysseus a sworn enemy to him.
After they leave the cyclopes' island, Odysseus takes his ships back to the neighboring island that they stopped at before (the one with really good land for farming but no seeds have been planted and lots of goats). They sacrifice the goat that Odysseus used to escape- Polyphemus' biggest ram. They sacrifice it to Zeus, but Zeus ignores it.
Odysseus assumes that the large cyclops will be friendly.Odysseus does not plan for a possible route of escape, leaving him and his men trapped in the cave.Odysseus does not send work back to his men on the ships as to what he is doing or where he is before the cyclops Polyphemos comes.Odysseus gives the Cyclops his name when escaping, causing him to be cursed.
