Warning: May sustain celibacy.
Pope Innocent III
To steer the people back on course.
We would have to go way back to Pope Lando elected in the year 913.
the pope banned him form the church but then later tried to get him back so people wouldn't leave the church.
It's called politics darling. The so-called "forefathers" of the three main monotheistic religions were interested in increasing their followers through the "be fruitful and multiply" clause but inevitably, they became too prolific and it was time to cut back, hence "the celibacy is holy" clause came into effect.
If you refer to Pope Benedict XVI, his immediate predecessor was Pope John Paul II. He also had 264 other predecessors dating back to St. Peter.
None. The common assumption is forty (or thirty-nine), after the custom of the times, but nowhere does Scripture state a specific number.
Great Heavens! Pope Benedict was ordained a priest back in 1951, the previous year he would have been ordained a deacon, and the year before that a subdeacon. When he was ordained a subdeacon he would have made a solemn vow of perpetual celibacy (never to get married). His last consecration was as a Bishop, and as a Bishop, he was made a Cardinal. He remains a Cardinal even after resigning from the Chair of Peter where he was Christ's Vicar, and the successor to St. Peter. He is a priest forever, he cannot resign nor abdicate that.
The leaders of the Catholic (Christian) Church dating back to Pope Peter, being the first Pope.
great news California is not a retro active state meaning they do not enforce back child support issues. They will only enforce it from the date of notice...
Very important - built for the pope.
