∙ 13y agoIt must be remembered that action to prevent global warming could involve short term economic costs, while the economic costs predicted to result from global warming are still somewhat far off in the future. Arguably, there was still some uncertainty during the time of Bush's presidency as to whether global warming was really occurring. In the face of that uncertainty there could have been a credible case to be made for delaying action until more evidence was available.
