bad wheel bearings, or bad seal.
Axle seal is bad and needs to be replaced
On your Ford Explorer , 4x4 , you have a leak at the PASSENGER side front axle seal ( I have had my passenger side front axle seal changed 3 times now on my 1995 Ford Explorer ) The seal doesn't cost very much , the cost is the labor and I would say it takes about 1 and 1/4 hours to do the job
When the front axle seal first starts " weeping " it doesn't necessarily drip on your garage floor , but it will eventually !
To change the front axle seal on a 1997 Dodge 1500 4x4, start by lifting the vehicle and removing the front wheel. Then, detach the brake caliper and rotor to access the axle assembly. Remove the axle nut and pull the axle shaft out of the differential, allowing you to access the seal. Use a seal puller to remove the old seal, clean the area, and then install the new seal, ensuring it's seated properly before reassembling the axle and brakes.
Sounds like a bad axle seal. You'll have to remove the axle to replace it.
You need to replace the oil seal.
