EGR valve is probably all clogged up with carbon so an incorrect amount of exhast gas is being mixed in, you could try taking it off cleaning the ports of excess carbon then giving a good shot of WD40 into the vacumn port and manifold of the EGR valve, ya know, just clean it up good and make sure the diaphragm moves freely. Worked for me once on an 88 Dodge Aries, idled rough so I cleaned the EGR valve up and reinstalled it, car idled perfectly afterwards.
The downside of disconnecting the EGR valve is higher emissions and a small drop in fuel economy.
At the engine is about 230-250 Hp Hp at the wheels is about 210
easy, take out the old engine, and put in the 350. it really is that simple.
Need to know the year and engine size so we can answer correct. 1995 6.5
The solenoid on a Caterpillar C15 diesel engine can be found on top of the alternator. The solenoid is held on by four screws.
It is on the back bottom side of the oil pan. The oil pan is what bolts to the bottom of the engine.
The camshaft actuator solenoid is located on the back of the engine. The solenoid will be near the top of the engine just below the cylinder head.
Who told you it is harmful? It is only harmful if it is a Diesel engine. If it is a petrol (gasoline) engine then Petrol is what it takes to run.
Yes, the engine can still run with the EGR vacuum solenoid not in the working condition.
The idle speed control solenoid controls the idle of the engine when the air conditioning is engaged. Since the ac pump draws down the engine idle the solenoid increase the idle when the ac is on.
The starter solenoid is on the starter. The transmission solenoids are in the solenoid pack on the front of the transmission.
The solenoid is attached to the starter itself, which is between the engine and the firewall.
Solenoid is getting hot from heat transfer. Wire in a remote solenoid.
