Great question!!
Our eyes receive Vitamin D from the Sun! You are not supose to wear sunglasses! And there is this thing called sun gazing, that we all should be doing. Research it up on Google. The sun is amazing. Don't believe what the media says. Another bad thing to use is Sunscreen. It actually causes cancer. So when the media says that everyone has skin cancer from the sun, they are a liar! It is the sunscreen we use. They say that if you get a natural dark dark tan from the sun you are guaranteed not to get skin cancer.
I recommend reading "Cancer is not a disease, it is a survival mechanism" By Andras Moritz.
you need blood in your eyes because the blood cells tranfers oxygen into your eye
The choroid is the vascular layer between the sclera and retina. These blood vessels supply the eye with oxygen and nutrients.
The dark brown membrane of the eye is the choroid, it contains many blood vessels and supplies the eye with nutrients.
The human body is made up of cells. No matter which part of the body we speak about, they are all made of cells. All cells need oxygen (which is delivered via blood). Therefore all parts of the eye receive blood.
The cornea is the transparent front part of the eye that covers the iris, ... Because transparency is of prime importance the cornea does not have bloodvessels; it receives nutrients!
Vascular Coat or Uvea is the middle part of the wall of the eye. Uvea has a rich supply of blood vessels that provides nutrients of the eye.
Like all cells in our bodies, the cells in our eyes require oxygen and nutrients, and they need to eliminate waste. For many animals, transporting oxygen, nutrients, and cellular wastes is done using the blood vessels. So it only makes sense that we would have blood vessels in our eyes.
There are a few blood vessels that are in the sclera, or white part of our eye, but most of the blood vessels are found in the retina in the inside back of our eye. Blood is not not normally inside the eye itself or it would interfere with the passage of light through the eye.
the layer that supplies blood to the retina is the "Sclera" which is the outermost layer of the eye.
No, both structures are made of living cells that still need nutrients.

Choroid
Yes, the front of the eye is filled with a watery substance called the aqueous humor. It brings nutrients to the cornea (front of the eye) since it does not have blood vessels to feed it since it's a living tissue.
