i think if you have a car like mine at a 52 plate i.e about 8yrs old or more
the fuel tank is filling with crap and needs flushing out or otherwise the float is actually broken, mine sticks at the same level evry time so im told by a machanic that the tank needs a clean out, but if that fails its a new float.
your gas gauge float is in the gas tank you have to drop your gas tank and take out sending unit but if the gas gauge is not reading right you should check the ground wire on the gas tank
AnswerYour gas float has a crack in it gas is getting into the float and it weights down the float so the computer thinks your tank is low on fuel. think of your gas float like float in the toilet bowl....if the float in the toilet bowl has a crack in it. it will stay at the bottom of the tank..same thing with your gas float..itstays at the bottom of the gas tank. Chevy Dealer has the float for $155.AnswerYour gas float has a crack in it gas is getting into the float and it weights down the float so the computer thinks your tank is low on fuel. think of your gas float like float in the toilet bowl....if the float in the toilet bowl has a crack in it. it will stay at the bottom of the tank..same thing with your gas float..itstays at the bottom of the gas tank. After a few days the fuel tank sensor started working again. Techron cleans the sulphur off the sensor, as advertised, allowing it to pickup an electrical signal and eliminating false or no readings and also shuts off the low fuel light. Worked for me even though I bought a new sensor to install in the tank if this didn't work but it did. Cheap easy fix so far!
No. The gas tank is a sealed tank below the trunk.
It is inside the gas tank.
no , because if u fill a steel gas tank it probably will not float.
you have what is called a "float" in your gas tank. If the float is no good, then the fuel gage in your car will say that the car is on "E" when in all actuallity it is full.
My understanding is there is a defect in the gas tank that causes the float to stick or get blocked when there is about 5 gallons or less in the take. The only sollution I have seen is to replace the fuel tank.
it is a float in the gas tank that tells the fuel gauge where to be
Pull the gas tank and replace float but check all wires to the tank first
There is a float on the sending unit and that is INSIDE of the fuel tank.
If you mean the float that measures fuel level, it's in the gas tank.
