One possibility is a warped brake rotor or a rotor disc with rust growth on the outside part of the rim. Jack up the wheels one at a time. Rotate the wheel, if the rotor hits the pads or the pad holder on each revolution, this could cause this wheel to lose revs at highway speed and bring on the light. Trim or replace the rotor to fix this. Have the tires been rotated lately - if so the tire pressure warning system must be re-initialized. Use the button on bottom of dash by left knee.
I have a 2008 Toyota RAV4. When the weather dropped below zero the tire pressure light came on. Checking the PSI indicated less than a 2 PSI change ( dropped from 32 to 30). With the tire pressure properly inflated the light did not go off. I discovered that the spare has a transmitter as well and was well below pressure. Properly inflating the spare corrected the issue of the tire pressure light.
The light will reset itself if the system is working properly and the tires are at the correct pressure. If the pressure is correct and the light is still on, you need to take it in for service.
Low oil pressure of a faulty oil pressure sending unit.
First, hook up an oil pressure gauge to check if the sender for the light is working properly. The light should come on when the pressure drops below 5PSI. If the light is on but the pressure is above 5PSI, replace the sending unit for the light. If the pressure is below 5PSI and you just replaced the oil pump your bearings are probably worn beyond limits and need to be replaced. This is a major project and you might consider just buying a remanufactured engine at this point.
poke the bulb out with an ice pick.
it's leaking or not sealing properly, bad sensor and or wiring
The only way to reset the low tire pressure warning light is to remove or replace the low tire pressure sensor. When the sensor is not working properly the light will remain on.
Properly inflate tires, drive car, light goes out.
no if the oil pressure gauge light is on it means that your car dose not have the oil pressure needed to properly oil the moving components, if you are sure that this is not the problem then replace the sensor and the light should shut off.
The light is telling you that your brakes are not working properly, which could be dangerous. Your best bet is to get it to a mechanic who can analyze the problem.
Oil pressure is low, oil pressure sensor has failedOil pressure is low, oil pressure sensor has failed
maybe you have low oil pressure?
