it's leaking or not sealing properly, bad sensor and or wiring
replace your gas cap first - cheepest try. i had a crack in a vacuum hose that made it keep coming on. You have an emssions problem of some sort. It may be the gas cap and could be many other things. Unless you are knowledgable, take it to a professional if a new gas cap does not fix it. BTW, a loose gas cap will cause the light to come on. Tighten it 3 clicks.
make sure gas cap is on all the way or missing cap ,this car must have a gas cap or computer will read [large] emissions leak or emission gas cap, hope this works!
Replace the gas cap with a new one and tighten it 3 clicks.
Could be a defective gas cap (bad sealing gasket?)
The gas cap light will go out automatically after you tighten, or replace the gas cap.
you can't. you need to fix what is causing the fuel vapor leak.
If you've replaced the cap and it's tight, you've probably got a hose loose or off on your vaporization system. That's the canister that filter the vapor from your fuel tank. That will also make the light come on. Check all the hoses under the hood and make sure they are all tight. Give that a shot.
make sure when putting gas cap back on that you tighten the cap until it clicks or the check engine light will ccome on
Any vapor leak from the fuel system can cause a "gas cap" light.
No, a loose gas cap can cause the check engine light to come on but not the low fuel light.
This sounds crazy.......your gas cap must click when you screw it on. After you have tightened your cap, disconnect your battery and wait 20 seconds and reconnect it. Your light should now be off.
Hummm.... Tough one. I would carry it by one of the parts store that will read the code for free. Autozone is one. If you have the code, you can find out whats going on. Wish I could tell you more.
