Maybe the clutch is not pulled in enough, maybe the cable needs to be a bit tighter, or maybe the gearbox itself needs repairs.

How do you shift a 2007 Harley Electra Glide Standard motorcycle?

Back lever to change up, front lever to change down. Front down for 1st Back down (front up) for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th. Levers will 'lock' in 1st and top gear; the levers will not press down any more. Neutral is a half press between 1st and 2nd gear.

What are the green and yellow warning lights on my Honda shadow mean?

On most motorcycles the green light is used to indicate that your transmission is in neutral. Neutral is located in between 1st and 2nd gear on a motorcycle. The yellow lights are likely your turn indicators.

What wrecks a motorcycle transmission?

Most damage to motorcycle gearboxes occurs due to either lack of maintenance or abuse. The most likely gears to be damaged are the lower ratios (such as 1st and 2nd gear), this this due to the fact that the lower the gear selected the more of the engines torque is put through the gear. So more wear and damage will occur during hard acceleration and wheelies. Another cause of damage is clutchless gearchanges when performed by younger or inexperienced riders. Poor clutch control will also cause damage i.e. sudden release of lever.

How do you shift a 1939 Indian motorcycle?

Release the throttle and engage the foot shift to engage the clutch. next grab the shifter and slowly push the gear forward into first. The next 3 gears and straight back on the shifter. The 1939 Indian Scout has a 3 speed transmission. When shifting from 1st to 2nd please do the same as shifting into first gear. That's it. The slower the rpms on the motor the easier it will go into gear.
