On a 2004 Ford Explorer : The fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) is in the front passenger footwell , by the kick panel
The 1996 Ford Explorer overdrive sensor can be found on the right hand side of the transmission. The overdrive sensor will be near the front of the transmission.
If you are on a highway maintaining over 45 mph. OK, but If vehicle continually shifts in and out of overdrive you are better off leaving it in 3rd
I was looking at the ( 2001 ) Ford Explorer Sport Trac Owner Guide and it shows there is an ( O/D OFF ) light in your gauge cluster when the ( overdrive ) is switched off by using the switch on the end of your automatic transmission gear selector
how do you replace the overdrive sensor on a 94 ford explorer
look under hood the in fuse box on passger side
Plain and simple the overdrive switch is pmost definitely bad take to a professional if you don't know what your doing,go to a shop that specializes in electrical work NOT THE DEALER,they will tell you your overdrive is burned out.
On a 1995 Ford Explorer : Overdrive is the normally allowed position Only if you switch overdrive off with the transmission control switch on the end of your gear selector lever ( P R N etcetera ) will you see the O/D OFF light lit up in your gauge cluster My 1995 Ford Explorer XLT has to be travelling around 50 MPH before it shifts into overdrive ( but I have the trailer towing package with 3.73 gears )
Even after pushing the overdrive cancel button again ? to allow the overdrive feature On my Ford Explorer with the column shift automatic , the overdrive switch is on the end of the gear selector lever
It's a button on the end of the gear selector lever ( P R N etc . )
On a 1998 Ford Explorer, Overdrive Band Failed Off means that the vehicle did not shift into Overdrive properly. The band for this gear should be serviced soon.
Overdrive allowed is the NORMAL position
