Because they represent poppies from Flanders in Belgium. In this particular region thousand of lives were lost during the first world war. Poppies grew in the fields after the war.

So the poppies don't directly represent the fighting at Gallipoli but are used to remember the dead from all of WW1

Cause where they were fighting in WW1 was covered in Poppies. Some people believe that the Poppy was originally white but they all got covered in blood so thats how it got red. :)

Because only poppies grew were the war in France was held. Also for their bright, red colour ( blood).

The poppy is a symbol of rememberance day because when WW1 ended poppy grew and is now the symbol
