Well if you are not wearing your seatbelt it will flash. See the car seat is specially designed to be able to sense when weight is on it. So if it feels pressure and knows that whoever is sitting there is not wearing the seatbelt it will flash to let you know to put it on. Its a safety devoce.

I do not beleive your jeep uses bulbs in the console. I have a 2000 grand cherokee and it uses a light strip that is part of the console and can only be replaced with the shifter assembly....... I plan to cut the wires from the light strip and install a pep boys console light that uses replacable bulbs....probably will just lay it in there as long as it is protected and safe... Good luck
