YOU PROBABLY HAVE A BAD OR CLOGGED HEATER CORE IN THE VEHICLE. DEPOSITS AND SEDIMENTS CAN FIND THERE WAY INTO THE HEATER CORE (NORMALLY LOCATED INSIDE THE DASH ASSEMBLY). NORMALLY A FLUSH OF THE CORE WILL HELP YOU OUT, IF NOT, A NEW CORE WILL BE NEEDED.
The core was really clogged, but under pressure it blew out, flushed the engine. Lower hose to the heater core coming from the engine is very hot, while lower radiator hose is almost even cold, what do you think?
The thermostat is not in the lower radiator hose of a vehicle. Thermostats tend to be placed at the end of the lower radiator hoses, not inside them.

Drain the radiator. Remove the lower radiator hose from the motor. Unbolt the hose inlet, and remove the thermostat. Replace the thermostat and the inlet, the hose, and refill the radiator.

Raise the front of the car up and support it safely. From underneath, drain the radiator, then remove the lower hose from the engine outlet. Remove the engine outlet, and the thermostat is inside.
