A water leak from the radiator in to the passenger compartment is usually a sign of a leak in the heater core. If the water is not from the radiator then there may be a leak in a window or door seal, or a hole in the undercarriage that is allowing water from the road to soak the carpet..
My question, I didn't finish. Water intrusion into battery storage compartment in rear seat, which spreads to passenger side floor mats. Where's it coming from?
check your floor board for moisture. sometimes a heater core will leak into the passenger compartment.
You have a water leak. Look for a trail from where it is entering.
water in passenger floorboard, where is the hose that would cause this?
The leak is probably caused by a faulty heater core. The heater core will have to be replaced. In an emergency, the hoses can be pulled off at the firewall from inside the engine compartment and spliced.
If the exhaust leak is allowing the fumes to come into the passenger compartment of the vehicle then you could very well get carbon monoxide poisoning. Very bad headaches, dizzyness, nausea, apathy, loss of consiousness which will cause an accident, and from prolonged exposure without relief; death. Fix the leak. If it is not coming into the passenger compartment then it will cause excessive noise and probably get you a ticket. Fix the leak.
oil or tranny leak and dripping on exhaust
The exhaust gets into the passenger compartment usually by a hole in the body of the vehicle. Another possibility is if there is an exhaust leak at or around the engine compartment,if this is so the ventilation for the passenger compartment can pull in the exhaust. Also you should check that the end of the tail pipe should stick out a little past the bumper.
it could be a leaky windshield or a hole in the firewall or maybe someone had changed the cabin filtre and didn't replace everything
more than likely the heater core is leaking
ruptured heater core
