You have to wait for it to cool. When it heats up inside a closed system , it builds up pressure .
Remove the radiator cap ONLY when the engine is cold.
That the engine is cool.
After the radiator/engine is cool to touch.
The radiator cap will get hot if the coolant is near the cap. Caution should always be taken when removing it to avoid being burned. The maximum coolant level is below the cap, but the cap pressurizes the system. Removing it too quickly without allowing the pressure out can result in serious injury.
clog in radiator. drain radiator by removing cap on bottom remove cap on top fill top with water see if drains out bottom. or possibly an air pocket trapped in cooling system. make sure to bleed the air from the system.
Radiator cap may have failed.Radiator cap may have failed.
There is a water reservoir tank that goes to the radiator that you can add the water to.
A radiator cap can not only be hot, but it is holding in pressure. When the cap comes off under pressure, hot antifreeze will spray out, possibly causing injury.
Look for a radiator cap and add it there.Look for a radiator cap and add it there.
Removing a plastic cover on the pillar beside the passenger's seat (beneath the seatbelt exit point) reveals the radiator cap. Ensure the engine is cold before removing. Take care when filling, because water can spill into the cab.
NO! That would be dangerous. Cars' coolant systems are pressurized, so if you open the radiator cap while the engine is running, it will spray HOT radiator fluid (water mixed with ethylene glycol, usually) all over you, and sometimes drain the radiator of coolant.
The rad fill cap is not on the radiator. It is located on the pass side of the vehicle by the front pass headlight. Usually has a thermometer looking thing on the cap. Just make sure your engine is cool before removing a radiator cap, if not you can burn yourself pretty bad.
